Say no to more cuts for disabled people

Benefits are a lifeline for millions of disabled people in the UK. They provide vital financial security for those unable to work and help to cover the extra costs of essentials like care and energy.

But this support is under threat, so we need to send a clear message: no more cuts.

What cuts are being proposed?

The Government has already cut the Universal Credit health element for new claimants by nearly half. Now, it's considering making young people wait until age 22 to access it. This will not remove barriers to work but will push more people into poverty and hardship - just because of their age.

At the same time, cuts to Personal Independence Payment (PIP) have not been ruled out and could return following a review later this year.

Sense is urging the Government: Act now to protect disability benefits and abandon plans for further cuts
